“Never Stop Searching For Your Passion”

Sad When It's Gone Desserts Owner/Operator Leetice had always been on a quest to find something that she was passionate about.

I was raised around great Chef's and delicious food. My Father was a Chef in the Navy and local Baltimore restaurants & my Granny began cooking at age 8 in Greenville, NC. They were both in the kitchen all the time and really loved cooking for their family. I definitely know that's where my affinity for cooking and baking comes from. Granny passed down her cake recipes to my Aunt Joyce and she took the reigns as our Family cake baker. Aunt Joyce is still baking those awesome cakes and has passed down some recipes to me. I had always enjoyed watching and helping my Daddy and Granny cook and learned so much along the way. Little did I know, those days would be the foundation for something bigger.

I worked a series of jobs over the years but still hadn't found my passion. I used to make banana pudding and it became my take along dish everywhere, especially for work potlucks and friends parties. People always said it was the best banana pudding that they'd ever had. I even had people that didn't eat bananas taste and love my banana pudding. Everyone always said I should sell it but at that time I never looked at it as a business.

Unbeknownst to me, it was my early days spending time in the kitchen with my Daddy and Granny and getting all of the encouragement from family and friends, that Sad When It's Gone Desserts was born. I'm so grateful to have finally found my passion. I love what I do and I put all of my time and love into my dessert creations.

My business is a family & friend's operation for sure, my Husband, Daughter's, Mom, Aunt's Joyce and Sharon, Cousin Meka and a host of my Girlfriend's have pitched in and helped tremendously in making it what it is today. I wouldn't be here without their love and willingness to support me whenever & however needed.
